Why this site exists
Southern California Edison customers pay close to double the national average for electricity. Despite that, the math on solar is harder to run than it should be. Most calculators are owned by installers who need a lead, not by a third party who can tell you when the numbers do not work.
scesolarsavings.com is the calculator and content I wanted when homeowners started asking me whether solar still made sense after NEM 3.0. It uses actual SCE time-of-use rates, real Power Purchase Agreement economics, and city-specific assumptions. Founded in 2025 and built to stay independent.
Why SCE-focused
Southern California Edison serves roughly 15 million Californians across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties. The rate structure, the NEM 3.0 export credits, and the time-of-use windows all behave differently from PG&E or SDG&E territory.
I operate from Temecula, which sits inside SCE territory. The calculator and the content here reflect that reality, not a generic national average. For Temecula-specific PPA conversations I also run temeculasolarsavings.com.
Background
Independent solar advisor based in Temecula, California. Helping homeowners across Southern California compare solar options since 2020. Not a licensed installer. When a project moves forward I refer it to vetted partners who execute under their own license, and I stay involved through close.
